Over 1,000 Northeast Georgia students register to compete annually for selection in the Georgia Music Educators Association's District 14 Honor Band which is compiled of public and private schools in Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Jackson, Madison, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Rabun, Stephens, and Walton counties.
Upon tallying all scores, students are placed in a Middle School Band (6th - 8th grades), Concert Band (9th - 10th grades), and a Symphonic Band (11th - 12th grades). Students may be nominated for an additional audition for All-State Honor Band if they achieve a predetermined score for their instrument. Those that "make the cut" for the second round will then audition in January at Houston County High School in Warner Robins, GA.

Friday, February 15
8:00 A.M. – Arrive, register, and move to rehearsal area (11/12 band on stage, 9/10 band in band room)
8:30 A.M. – Rehearsal 1
12:00 P.M. – Lunch
1:30 P.M. – Rehearsal 2
5:00 P.M. – Dinner
6:30 P.M. – Rehearsal 3
9:00 P.M. – Dismissal
Saturday, February 16
8:00 A.M. – Arrive

2:00 P.M. – Concerts Begin
Make sure to stay for the entire concert. Do not leave after you perform. Also, meet together so we can take a group picture after the performances!

The participation fee has been paid by JHS Bands but students/families will be responsible for meals Friday in addition to transportation to and from the event.
